Literacy Night

A crowded indoor space with people seated at tables, surrounded by windows and a busy atmosphere.
Algonquin

Algonquin Middle School hosted their eighth annual Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, March 18 and more than 250 participants attended the event!

As families arrived to the free event, each D62 student was able to choose a free book.

Families could chose from three different activities to participate in that evening: a bookmark craft, mad libs, a digital escape room, scrabble, book bingo and visiting the Anderson's book fair.

The Des Plaines Park District, the Des Plaines Public Library and Maine West High School each hosted tables at the event to connect with community members.

The evening ended with a raffle.

Thank you to all of the many staff members, AMS students, National Junior Honor Society members and Maine West National Honor Society members who volunteered at the event.

We look forward to hosting this event again next year!
