Summer Reading Program
The AMS Summer Reading Program involves all AMS students and staff. Students are required to choose to read one book from of the 2025 Rebecca Caudill Nominee book list.
2024 Summer Reading Program Family Letter
All AMS students and incoming 6th grade students have already selected which book they will read. Students will receive a copy of the book they choose, along with the required bookmark assignment, by May 31st, 2024.
If a student loses their bookmark, you can print out the appropriate bookmark attached to this post. Most books on the list are fiction so most will use the fiction bookmark. However, please use the non-fiction bookmark if your student read any of the following books: Alias Anna, Seen and Unseen, or Victory. Stand!
All students must bring their bookmark back to school when they return on August 20, 2024 and hand it in to their ELA teacher. This bookmark assignment will count as their first ELA grade. During the first week of school, we will have a Reading Celebration Day where the whole school breaks into small discussion groups and has book discussions about the book they read.
The AMS Summer Reading Program Celebration is a wonderful event where students and teachers get to talk about the wonderful books they read during the summer, get to know each other and begin the school year with some fun!
